Field of Study

Art History

Art History is available as both a major and minor sequence in the BA.

A major in Art History consists of eight 12.5-point subjects, totalling 100 points, comprising:

Level 1

  • One Art History Level 1 subject

Level 2

  • 37.5 points of subjects at level 2

Level 3

  • The capstone subject, and
  • 25 points of level 3 subjects.

It is advisable for students to choose subjects from different periods of art history.

A minor in Art History comprises six 12.5-point subjects, totalling 75 points, comprising:

Level 1

  • one Art History level 1 Subject

Level 2/3

  • Five Art History level 2 or 3 Subjects

The capstone subject is not available in the minor or as breadth studies outside the BA.
